A magical winter holiday in Warth in Vorarlberg

Thousands of tiny snow crystals float before your eyes above the ski tracks cut in the snow-covered winter landscape. Sssh, can you hear that? It’s the sound of silence. The only sound to be heard is your breathing and the crunching of snow beneath your feet. You feel increasingly exhilarated with each step you take. Spending a winter holiday far from the hustle and bustle of the pistes and the après ski in Warth, is a real source of energy.

The starting point for unforgettable winter memories

A winter day with rosy cheeks, warm mittens and a hot cup of herb tea is guaranteed to soothe away the stress of everyday life. Here in Warth there are lots of ways to experience the magic of the snow-filled countryside in winter.

Winter walking on the Arlberg

20 kilometres of winter walking tracks lead through the snow-covered alpine landscape to a plethora of fabulous places. We recommend the circuit around the Kalbelesee and on to the Körbersee, voted Austria’s loveliest spot in 2018, or the sunny winter walking tracks around the Dorfbahn cable car, just round the corner from the hotel.

Snow shoe walking

A snow shoe walk around Warth makes the hassle of everyday life pale into insignificance, and is a classic example of the journey itself supplanting the destination. You will need good, waterproof shoes and clothing plus ski poles. Snow shoes can be hired from the hotel reception.

The fascination of ski touring

Ski touring is the perfect way to discover the unspoilt side of Ski Arlberg and the headwaters of the Lech, and there are countless routes available. The Arlberg is renowned for its fantastic deep powder slopes and its off-piste skiing for all abilities.

Cross-country skiing in Warth

Cross-country skiing in Warth is a great way to exercise outdoors in the natural world, and constitutes very effective altitude training. Four circuits for both skating and classical styles with a total length of approx. 17 kilometres run from Hotel Jägeralpe to the Körbersee. Reliable snow conditions at altitudes of between 1,600 and 1,700 metres above sea level.

Tobogganing

No winter holiday in Vorarlberg should be without an exhilarating tobogganing session! The "Von der Höhi" toboggan run in Warth is 700 metres long. Twice a week the tractor pulls you up to the top, enabling some great tobogganing back down into the valley. A glass of mulled wine, or hot punch for the children, awaits you at the bottom of the run.

Ice climbing in Warth-Schröcken

Numerous turquoise blue frozen waterfalls, some of them soaring up to 300 metres out of gorges, delight climbing aficionados in Warth-Schröcken. Guides of the Widderstein alpine climbing school will show beginners the ropes, including the correct use of the pick, ice screws and climbing irons.

Flying Fox Park Safari Schröcken

Six Flying Fox or Zip Line courses enable visitors to whizz down to the valley at altitudes of 20 to 90 metres, high above the slopes and wild ravines. Experience an adrenaline-fuelled impression of the breathtaking landscape as you fly through the air like a bird.
