Christmas is in the offing, and what would the festive season be without a glass of mulled wine to provide a pleasantly warm glow of anticipation? Steaming festive-smelling mulled wine is a great hot drink to enjoy at home at Christmas and a real joy on cold days. This year how about a mulled gin made to Simon’s special recipe?
Ingredients: 500 ml naturally cloudy apple juice 500 ml orange juice 1 lemon 1-2 cinnamon sticks approx. 8 cloves200 ml ginger beer (we used Goslings, which is a bit sweeter)200 ml Muser Gin 1 orange to garnish
Pour the orange juice into a saucepan together with the apple juice, lemon juice, cloves, cinnamon sticks and ginger beer. Heat the ingredients and let them warm for approx. 15 - 20 minutes. Do not allow to boil! Cut the orange into slices. Strain the heated ingredients and pour into glasses. Garnish with the orange slices and cinnamon sticks and serve immediately.
Gin tip
For the preparation of the mulled gin we used our own house gin, "MUSER GIN", made using Warth mountain hay, black junipers and orange zest.
