Wine enjoyment doesn’t have to be a science. It’s much better to simply relax with a glass of good wine: taste it, explore it, enjoy it. In our wine cellar you will find a great choice of wines, mostly from Austria, Italy and Spain, all of which have been selected with loving care. A sociable glass of red in a congenial ambience is guaranteed to induce that holiday feeling.

Junior boss Simon has made a career out of his passion for wine. As a qualified sommelier he is responsible for keeping the hotel wine cellar regularly stocked with quality wines from Austrian vintners, as well as many favourite tipples from Italy and Spain. In addition to Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Zweigelt or Blaufränkisch, Simon always manages to find special treasures from the world of Austrian wine. Join Simon for a tasting in our wine cellar and worm out of him some of the many fascinating and well-hidden secrets about the world of wine. Time and again he manages to surprise us with an exceptional je ne sais quoi for both nose and palate.

After his undying passion for excellent good food and wine, the next great love of Simon’s life is gin. Our hotel bar bristles with a carefully chosen selection of different gins from Austria and the whole world. Our own home-produced Muser gin – “a real Walser” - is a classic London dry gin with fine overtones of Warth mountain hay.

Private wine tastings

Regular open wine tasting sessions for hotel guests are organised on a regular basis as part of the hotel’s own weekly programme of events, but if you would like to arrange a private tasting, please ask at reception. You are welcome to pre-book your tasting session when making your room reservations.
